Remote Controlled Lighting System

Important Notice to all Shobdon based aircraft, owners and pilots

The Remote Controlled Lighting System installed at Shobdon for use by West Midlands Air Ambulance and other emergency services HAS NOT YET BEEN APPROVED FOR USE BY ANY OTHER AIRCRAFT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
We are currently undertaking a full hazard and risk assessment of the use of the system for other aircraft. Should we be satisfied that any risks can be mitigated satisfactorily, we will then apply to the CAA for approval for specified use, other than by emergency services aircraft.
This notice will be placed on the Shobdon Airfield Website and placed in prominent positions around the Herefordshire Aero Club club house and offices and a NOTAM issued to this effect.
Out of hours landings may be arranged by PPR before 13.00 hours on the date of landing, subject to the availability of qualified personnel. Charges for the attendance of an AFISO and RFFS will apply.

Chairman of the Board of Directors and Accountable Manager.
