COVID 19 UPDATE

UPDATE: 06/11/2020:

In line with the latest Government guidance we have taken the decision to close the airfield to all but essential activities, emergency services, military and commercial flights. There will be limited staff cover and the clubhouse will be closed. Megs Cafe will be closed until 2nd December and no takeaways will be available. COVID 19 UPDATE

UPDATE: 02/11/2020:

Further to the Government announcement on the 31/10/20, we are currently assessing the implications of this on Shobdon Airfield.  We will provide further updates as soon as we have more information.

UPDATE: 19/08/2020: We are now open from Monday to Sunday from 09.00 to 17.00 local.

UPDATE: 19/6/20: We are now open to visitors everyday (excluding Sunday) from 09:00 to 17:00 local.

We are considering opening to visitors on further days so please check back regularly. Resident aircraft owners/ club members should review the latest announcements regarding out of hours operations.

Please can all visitors review our airfield information and noise abatement procedures before their visit.

UPDATE 18/5/20: We are now reopen to visitors initially on Tuesday 19th May and Thursday 21st May from 09:30 to 17:30 local. Strict PPR required by calling 01568 708369 where we will advise pilots of our safety measures regarding Covid 19.

UPDATE 16/5/20: Following recent guidance from the CAA we are pleased to announce that we are planning to reopen the airfield to visiting aircraft on a limited basis/ days. Further information will follow however if you wish to visit please contact us on 01568 708369 for more information.

UPDATE 28/4/2020: The CAA guidance permits essential maintenance flights to take place during the current COVID-19 restrictions. On this basis owners of GA aircraft are permitted to conduct aircraft maintenance flights. Our home based operators will be doing this on a managed and restricted basis.

Following the Prime Minister’s public address and the latest Government advice we are now closed to all aircraft movements except vital emergency services until further notice.

The Prime Minister’s message was very clear and it is our duty to the safety of all to comply with the Government’s measures.

The team at Herefordshire Aero Club would like to thank members and visitors alike for for their support in this difficult time and we hope to see you all again just as soon as it is safe to do so.
