Located in the magnificent Marches near the border between England and Wales, Shobdon Airfield is the only licenced airfield in Herefordshire and has been the home of Herefordshire Aero Club
for more than 55 years.
We have a small yet dedicated friendly team operating our airfield and its facilities for our pilots, students and visitors.
We currently have the following exciting opportunities for customer-focused individuals who can deliver excellent service to join our growing business:
Head of Training
The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and be responsible for managing day to day operations of the Approved Training Organisation (ATO), and the development of training to build upon Shobdon’s reputation for high quality training in a friendly club environment.
Develop, maintain and manage the Flight Training services at HAC. Ensure suitably qualified staff are present at the airfield during opening hours. Provide expert advice to the Board of Directors in all matters relating to flying and club aircraft handling. Hold a CAA Flight Instructor Licence and maintain currency
Train students to respective syllabi, and towards type ratings and conduct currency checks when required Monitor and support student progress and retention ensuring that student records are comprehensive and up to date.

Herefordshire Aero Club has operated for over 50 years as a flying club and now as an Approved Training Organisation. Join our professional team of Flying Instructors based at Shobdon Airfield near Leominster in the wonderful Herefordshire countryside. We operate a Club owned fleet of PA28’s and C152’s, currently enjoying a record number of student pilots and on-going training and support for our Club members. This is a rare opportunity for a FULL TIME employed position for the right instructor, part time will also be considered.
Train students to respective syllabus, train towards type ratings and conduct currency checks. Assess students’ ability and sign them off to do solo flights and check rides. Pull aircraft in and out of hangar and update flight sheets. Hold a CAA Flight Instructor Licence and maintain currency. Please contact us.
